July 9, 2005, we launched our first letter to the editor.  Below is a copy of that letter.  This letter will be emailed to newspapers across the state of Texas as an introduction to No Texas Teacher Left Behind.

After the attack on Pearl Harbor, Japanese Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto is given credit for the statement,  "I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve."

Perhaps Texas teachers have been asleep, but no more.  No Texas Teacher Left Behind is filled with resolve to spread its message to every corner of Texas.

Teachers constitute a HUGE voting bloc in Texas.  We are awake...we are taking action...we will vote.
